Save the date: 22nd – 28th of April 2022, because Wild Dunedin/Ōtepoti Mohoao – New Zealand Festival of Nature is back! Many consider Dunedin NZ/Ōtepoti Aotearoa’s wildlife capital, because it is home to rare and endangered wildlife, such as New Zealand sea lions/pakake, yellow-eyed penguins/hoiho, Northern royal albatross/toroa and New Zealand fur seals/kekeno. Popular children’s entertainer Suzy Cato is returning as a guest and will be at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum on Saturday the 23rd of April, with friends from Kiwi Kids Music to celebrate the sea/moana. Artists Martin Hill and Philippa Jones are guests and are known for their award-winning nature-inspired sculptures, including ‘Synergy’ in Lake Wanaka in 2010. There are a range of events, including talks about pakake by the New Zealand Sea Lion Trust and by photographer and surfer Derek Morrison from Box of Light.
