Duke to Sian…
1. What is your whakapapa?
I grew up in Matamata. But my ancestors are from Russell/Kororareka, which is my homeland. I’m currently based in Dunedin/Ōtepoti.
2. What is your interest in doing a radio show?
To bring awareness to causes I am passionate about, and to address and normalise matters that have been shrouded in shadow. Plus what a cool opportunity to share with one of your best friends!
3. What do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time in nature, with friends/whānau and animals, do photography and engage with music.
4. What are your pro tips for surviving the patriarchy?
Recognise and embrace your own power; realise that there is room at the table for everyone; confidence and kindness are your best assets; lifting other women up serves you too.
5. What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about wildlife welfare particularly indigenous and endangered species such as New Zealand sea lions/pakake, conserving Mother Earth/Papatūānuku, mental health advocacy, and normalising self-care.
