May this beautiful photo of a New Zealand sea lion pup by John Burke from the New Zealand Sea Lion Trust spice up your Friday.
According to New Zealand Sea Lion Trust chairwoman Jordana Whyte, 20 pups are expected between Taieri Mouth and Warrington this season.
Five pups have already been discovered in Dunedin. Jordana said “All of the pups that we are expecting this season are direct descendants of Mum. Itâs still very much a family affair.”
‘Mum’ the matriarch of the Dunedin sea lion population arrived in 1993 and gave birth to the first pup on mainland New Zealand in over 150 years.
To protect endangered sea lions please walk, opposed to drive on to beaches in the Otago and Southland Regions.
