The Nest Kingsland

As Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland nears two months in lockdown, it cannot be underestimated how small acts like going for a walk on a sunny day and getting a coffee helps to keep us grounded. One of my favourite spots in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland is The Nest in Kingsland. The Nest opened on the 18th of August 2021, as Delta swept through town. Tūī owns the aptly named The Nest and the stores beautiful wood interior was crafted by her Dad. Prior to returning to Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, Tūī lived in London, where she managed an organic, artisan Grocer like The Nest. Tūī is a dancer, but unfortunately COVID-19 doesn’t often offer opportunities for preforming arts professionals.

At The Nest, you can expect a warm greeting from one of The Nest wahine and a kōrero over a Kokako Organic Coffee. Every product has been handpicked and is local, organic or artisan. You will find PT Chev Cookies, Bread & Butter Bakery and Cafe, Oh My Goodness Specialty Breads, Trade Aid New Zealand, Chantal Organics, Ceres Organics, Wild Delicious, fresh produce, and dairy, Fair + Square Soapery, and candles, among many other products. Treat yourself Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland and Kia Kaha!
